While you’ll never hear the annoying “beep…beep…beep..beep…” in the middle of the night alerting you of low batteries coming from your Vivint devices, you will still be required to change the batteries eventually. You will be alerted via your touchscreen panel when it is time to change the batteries for any device. Changing the batteries for any component of your Vivint system is simple and convenient. Follow the steps below for each device to change the batteries:

Thermostat

  1. Go to your Smart Thermostat.
  2. Remove bottom panel from the front of your thermostat.
  3. Remove the old batteries and replace with 4 AA batteries.
  4. Replace the panel, making sure it snaps fully into place.
  5. Safely dispose of the old batteries.

Smoke Detector

  1. Go to your touchscreen panel and put your system in Walk Test mode.
  2. Go to your smoke detector.
  3. Twist off the top cover of your sensor.
  4. Take out the old batteries and replace with 3 AAA batteries.
  5. Twist cover back on.
  6. Safely dispose of the old batteries.
  7. Be sure to exit Walk Test mode on your touchscreen panel when you’re finished.

Carbon Monoxide Detector

  1. Go to your touchscreen panel and put your system in Walk Test mode.
  2. Go to your CO detector.
  3. Twist off the top cover of your sensor.
  4. Take out the old batteries and replace with an R123A or DL123A battery.
  5. Twist cover back on.
  6. Safely dispose of the old batteries.
  7. Be sure to exit Walk Test mode on your touchscreen panel when you’re finished.

Door Lock

  1. Go to your door lock.
  2. Remove the back cover by pulling it upward.
  3. Remove the battery pack.
  4. Swap out 4 AA batteries.
  5. Replace the battery pack with the prongs facing towards you.
  6. After the door lock initializes and is no longer making noise, replace the back cover.
  7. Safely dispose of the old batteries.

Door/Window Sensor

  1. Go to your touchscreen panel and put your system in Walk Test mode.
  2. Go to your door/window sensor.
  3. Open the sensor.
  4. Take out the old battery and replace with two CR2032 batteries. Be sure to replace the new batteries with the positive side facing up.
  5. Replace the sensor’s cover.
  6. Safely dispose of the old batteries.
  7. Be sure to exit Walk Test mode on your touchscreen panel when you’re finished.
