Spring is a time for new beginnings—and for clearing out a whole winter’s-worth of clutter that you haven’t gotten around to. And that cleaning actually includes your Vivint system. As you’re sprucing up and getting everything in order for the next season, be sure to take a moment and tune up your home automation system. Here are some things you might consider . . .

  1. Remove extra users—Throughout the year, you may have added extra door codes or a temporary passcode or two to your online account. Only you can make changes to your account, but it’s not a bad idea to delete any temp codes that are no longer being used. If your secondary users still need access to your system, consider deleting the old codes and updating them with new ones just to keep everything secure.
  2. Update your thermostat—It’s getting warmer outside, and your schedule might be changing with the new season. Take moment to log on to your online account and update your primary temperature and your Smart Thermostat schedules as needed.
  3. Change your batteries—Check each piece of equipment to make sure they’re all juiced up and functioning at full capacity. If you have any questions about the status of your equipment or how to change the batteries, don’t hesitate to call our Customer Support department at 800.216.5232.
  4. Change your passwords—To keep your system 100% secure, it’s a good idea to change the password to your online account often—preferably every few months. This advice stands for any online account you have.
