Vivint Gives Back, the philanthropic arm of Vivint Smart Home, focuses on making a meaningful impact in the lives of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is manifested through many different efforts: improving technology to aid these families, sponsoring events that raise awareness and funds for different charities that align with their mission, and by organizing company-wide volunteer opportunities both locally and around the world.

This year the Vivint Gives Back team recruited over 300 Vivint volunteers to help renovate a special needs school in Romania called The Crystal Children. Children with special needs are often ignored in Romania, so creating special schools like The Crystal Children help children with developmental and intellectual disabilities get the attention they need.

During the month of October, Vivint Gives Back teams worked alongside Romanian volunteers on two different parts of the school: a day center and a residential center. The work was extensive, including removing the old plaster from the walls, installing insulation, fixing broken windows, repairing the heating and air conditioning, and providing overall cosmetic updates to the buildings.

Conor Callaway, a Human Resources Director for Vivint Smart Home, said, “I had the opportunity to take my 17-year-old daughter with me [to Romania] and it was an experience that she and I will never forget.”
