What to Expect During Your System Installation
Welcome to the Vivint Smart Home family! We want your installation to go as smoothly as possible, so take a look at the following information to help you prepare for your upcoming appointment.
The installation of your Vivint Smart Home system will vary depending on the type and amount of equipment you are getting installed. During your installation, the Smart Home Pro will install your equipment and educate you on the system to ensure you are comfortable using the equipment.
You can expect the following at your installation appointment:
- Pre-installation review of quote details
- Confirmation of your service and equipment
- Walkthrough of your home with the Smart Home Pro
- Equipment installation and testing
- Downloading the mobile application on your personal devices and creation of your online account
- Training by the Smart Home Pro on how to control your system through your panel and mobile application
Remember, you (the contract signer) need to be in the home during the beginning and end of the installation. Someone over the age of 18 must be in the home during the entire installation.
For new construction or remodels: Your home must have power to complete the install of your equipment.
If cameras, Nest, Amazon Echo, Google Home, or Smart Drive are part of your install, please have your Wi-Fi information available for the Smart Home Pro to make the setup as easy as possible.
If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, contact Customer Care at 866.955.6815. We ask that you give us 24-hour notice if you need to reschedule an appointment.
We want to make sure you feel comfortable using your system. In addition to the training provided by your Smart Home Pro, a series of videos and support materials that teach you how to control the system through your panel and mobile application are available online at support.vivint.com.
