A chat with Smart Home Specialist Mary Bagley

We sat down with Mary Bagley, a Smart Home Specialist that has worked in the Utah Customer Care center for almost a year, to hear what working at Vivint means to her.
Mary, tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a college student studying journalism and public speaking. I have been working at Vivint for seven months, and I love it. When I am not working or studying for school, I can most likely be found reading, playing music, or exploring through old antique shops.
What do you love most about working in Customer Care?
I love working in Customer Care because I get to work one on one with our amazing customers and have the opportunity to help them with their Vivint security system, teaching them how to utilize the equipment in a way that provides them with the highest level of security to their home and family. Working in Customer Care also gives me a chance to be on the front lines of technology development and to consistently fulfill my desire to learn, which is extremely important to me as an employee. I love working as a Smart Home Specialist.
What do you focus on in Customer Care?
In Customer Care we mainly focus on troubleshooting different levels of Vivint equipment and answering questions that a customer may have regarding their system. I mainly work with the panels, sensors, and different detectors. Although our main duty is to work with the equipment, our biggest focus is on the customer and making sure that we are capable of providing them with the best experience and knowledge possible of how our systems work. I love getting calls from a customer who is curious about how a specific piece of equipment works, because I get the opportunity to explain how cool and innovative our technology is, and then it gets both me and the customer excited.
Why did you choose to work at Vivint Smart Home?
I chose to work at Vivint Smart Home because I didn’t want another regular job, I wanted to start my career. When I was first looking around at different companies and considering a variety of positions, I continually came back to the option of working at Vivint. There was no other company that could offer me a flexible schedule, awesome benefits, an extremely positive work environment, and that also offered a high amount of promotions to its employees. I knew when I accepted my job at Vivint Smart Home that I was taking the first step in my career. Every day, I now work with my career in mind.
How is Vivint different than other companies you’ve worked at?
Vivint is different from other companies because, at Vivint, we are one big family. We have wonderful leadership and management that make our work environment FUN. Yes, work is FUN. It bonds together the employees and motivates us to do our very best. Vivint also differs from other companies because at Vivint we base our work off of core family values. We value our customers as if they are our own family. We want the best security and safety for them and their homes. I haven’t ever seen another company that would go to the same extents that Vivint does to ensure the protection of their customers. That is the difference between Vivint and other companies, Vivint values the family, and does this by making our company and customers a family.
Is there anything you’d like to say to our customers?
In this day and age, security is no longer a convenience, it is a necessity. Your home is where you live and create memories with your family and nothing should infringe upon that. Here at Vivint, we work every day with this in mind. We strive to the best of our abilities to provide you with the highest level of safety possible to protect your home and family.
