Delivering Hope in Kentucky
The Hope Center in Lexington, Kentucky is committed to rebuilding the lives of the homeless through recovery, employment, housing, mental health and medical programs. Vivint employees in the area recently partnered with the center to aid in this important cause.
With the reality that not all homeless or at-risk people can make it to the center, the non-profit organization also runs a mobile outreach program that delivers services like food, clothing and medical care directly to the homeless. Vivint volunteers provided and prepared a meal for Hope Mobile to deliver. “We bought the food needed to make turkey sandwiches and made over 150 sack lunches,” volunteer Brittney Petersen said. “It was humbling to know that we were providing lunch that day for so many people in need.”
The volunteers not only prepared the food, but were then able to deliver the lunches as well. Hope Center serves around 15,000 meals a month and Vivint was proud to play a part in that impressive and important accomplishment. “It was an awesome experience for us to set aside some time and put effort into giving back to people in need,” Petersen said.
