Vivint Gives Back 2013 – A Year In Reflection
Vivint raised more than $3 million for charity during 2013 through the Vivint Gives Back program. Additionally, nearly 6,500 Vivint employees volunteered their time and collectively donated more than 50,000 hours of service.
Vivint Gives Back has been Vivint’s philanthropic arm since 2008 and functions solely through employee contributions and Vivint corporate matches. The organization has provided cash donations as well as hands-on volunteers to a variety of individuals and charity organizations throughout the world. The goal of every project is to restore hope for families in need and give Vivint employees a chance to serve in their communities.
In 2013, Vivint Gives Back partnered with numerous organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Feed My Starving Children.
By far the organization’s biggest endeavor of the year was the Sub for Santa program in December. Nearly 2,000 Vivint employees and executives came together to wrap and deliver Christmas presents to more than 3,000 kids in 125 communities throughout North America. These locations included several local elementary schools, boys and girls clubs, homeless shelters, and women’s shelters. Altogether the volunteers donated 5,000 hours of service by shopping for gifts, wrapping them, and even delivering them in person. The effort raised $228,000 from employee donations and dollar-for-dollar matching from Vivint.
