We’ve made it to the end of our four-part series on Vivint Solar. In part four, we’ll discuss where our equipment is made and whether or not your rates will increase substantially (hint: they won’t). Can I cancel after the installation?

There shouldn’t ever be a reason to cancel once the system has been installed, but if you want to stop paying for the power produced, you can buy the panels with a pre-determined buyout payment.

Why do you raise the rates 2.9% a year?

The rate will increase by 2.9% each year, but will never go higher. We understand our cost of business may increase over time due to inflation and taxes, but we want to make sure that we can always service our customers properly and can ensure that through a predictable rate.

Is the equipment made in America?

Some of our equipment is, but the solar panels are made in China.

What happens if I pass away during the agreement?  Does it pass to my next of kin?

In the unfortunate event that this happens, we can safely assume that whoever inherits or purchases the home will want to save money on their power. That being said, we treat a customer’s death like a sale of the customer’s home.
