prepping your pet sitter
Whether it’s a weekend getaway or an exotic vacation, every now and then you just need to leave home. And since your cats and dogs can’t always come with you, it’s probably time to call the pet sitter and fill them in on everything they’ll need to know. This also includes your Vivint home automation system, so here are some things you might want to do before you walk out the door:
- Orient your sitter with your Vivint system. Make sure they know how it works, how to arm and disarm your system, how to work your touchscreen panel, and how to turn off a false alarm. Just in case.
- Create a temporary code for your automatic door locks. This way your sitter can get in and out of the house at any time without a key. Add a temporary code on your Vivint Account Center and then delete the extra code when you return home to keep your system secure. - Leave your Vivint contacts. In case an emergency occurs, your system gets damaged, or your sitter has any questions while you’re gone, be sure to leave them the number for Vivint’s Customer Service department—800.216.5232. They can call anytime, day or night.
